Vacancy for Councillor – Flaxton Parish Council

On Monday 19th May 2025, we were notified by North Yorkshire Council Electoral Services that their Proper Officer has received insufficient requests from eligible electors for an election to fill the casual councillor vacancy on Flaxton Parish Council.

Further, Flaxton Parish Council must, as soon as is practicable, co-opt a duly qualified person to fill the vacancy (under Rule 5(5) of the Local Election (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006).

We are therefore seeking applications to fill the vacancy. The process to co-opt a duly qualified person will be conducted in accordance with Flaxton Parish Council’s Co-option Policy, which is available on the website at FPC Co-option Policy

The policy sets out the Eligibility Criteria and the Application and Appointment Process along with the application forms to be completed.

Pond Dipping – 26th May 2025

The goose has finished nesting on the pond so the pond dipping event which was postponed from April will now be held at 11 am on Monday 26 May (Bank Holiday Monday). See flyer for details.
