Old Ordnance Survey Maps of Flaxton
Several old maps of Flaxton and the surrounding district can be found on the National Library of Scotland website. These provide a good insight into the features of the village and how it has evolved over the past 150 years.
The 25 Inch scale maps provide a great deal of detail including the location of trees, wells, ponds and footpaths. Unfortunately, four maps are required to cover the entire Flaxton area.
Ideally you need to view the maps on a high resolution screen from where you can zoom into the relevant features.
