Devolution public consultation 

A proposed devolution deal for York and North Yorkshire was announced on the 1 August 2022.

Under the proposed deal, the region will gain local control of funding to spend on the things that matter to the people of York and North Yorkshire. This will include £540million of new Government investment to spend on local priorities to produce growth, together with a range of devolved powers.

A public consultation is now live to gather views from the public on how the proposed deal will be implemented. The consultation launched on the 21 October and will run until the 16 December 2022.

Devolution could bring about important change in York and North Yorkshire, so it is important for you to have your say.
