Request for Volunteer Stewards – Malton Museum Roman Festival Family Fun Day, Sunday 24th July

The above event is being held from 11am to 3.30.pm in Orchard Field, Old Maltongate Malton, YO17 7EG. The Malton “Family Fun Day will be celebrating “All things Roman” and Malton’s “Historic Roman connections”.

I have received a request from the event organisers to canvass NHW members to volunteer as stewards to assist in the marshalling in order to meet the organiser’s health and safety requirements.

The celebrations will include live action demonstrations, re-enactments and stalls selling refreshments, souvenirs etc. It is likely to attract large crowds that will require a large number of stewards to marshal drivers for parking off road and direct pedestrians to the event fields in Old Malton Gate.

They will need to have a rota of volunteer stewards to be on site for up to 2 hours between 8 am and 4.30PM. The role will require a lot of standing so there is a need to have a rota of volunteers to cover for rest breaks. High visibility tabards will be provided as required. Volunteers will have free access to the event for the remainder of the day.

If you are willing to assist as a volunteer steward at this event, can spare some time to assist the organisers and require more information about the role and responsibilities please e-mail your contact details quoting this circulation to Louise Lewis, Executive Committee, Malton Museum as soon as possible at .

Village Plan Questionnaire

I am pleased to announce the next stage in producing a Village Plan, which is being supported by North Yorkshire County and Flaxton Parish Councils.

A questionnaire covering a range of topics which are hopefully relevant to YOU and the Village will be delivered to every household in the parish.

Please complete the questionnaire and have your say on the future of our village.

Questionnaires will be delivered by several volunteers who will also collect and analyse the responses.

We hope to have collected all the responses by the end of the month.

The final plan document will be distributed at a later date.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
