We plan to resume our programme of talks on Monday 20th September when Pam Towler will speak to us on “A Year at Kew”. It will be in the Flaxton Village Hall starting at 7:30pm and be followed by refreshments and our AGM.
To address concerns about possible infection, sanitiser will be available at the entrance, chairs will be spaced apart, and doors and windows will be opened (if the weather allows). You are encouraged to respect distance from others when moving around and should feel free to wear a mask if you wish.
To ensure it is worth holding this meeting, pleaselet John Chambers knowby Wednesday 15th September if you are coming. (01904 468893, )

Following our summer update about maintenance work on the A64, I am writing to inform you that A-one+ working on behalf of Highways England, will be carrying out essential maintenance on this route.
Starting on Monday 2nd August, we will be replacing sections of safety barriers, renewing some road signs, and cutting back vegetation on the A64 at Malton. Replacing the barrier will result in safer journeys for customers.
We are writing to customers in businesses in the area to advise them and a copy of this letter is attached for your information.
We’ll be doing several projects on the A64 this year, many of which are vital for road safety. We’ve planned our work to minimise disruption as much as possible, but with so much vital work to complete we can’t avoid working during the summer. We appreciate that there will be some short-term delays because of our roadworks, but this project will make journeys safer in the long term.
Further customer information including website updates, press releases and social media will be available to residents and businesses as work commences. If you have any questions, or if you would like to know about our work, please contact Highways England on 0300 123 5000 or email .
