Welcome to the Flaxton Community Website
Flaxton is a small village in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire. Located about nine miles north of York, the village lies entirely within a Conservation Area and has a population of approximately 350.
Under development by the Parish Council, this website enables you to find out how your Parish Council is serving you. It also provides local news and information for Flaxton and the wider community. The site replaces the Original Website, which will be decommissioned once all relevant materials have been transferred.
Our aim is to evolve this site into a thriving community hub – so please sign up to receive the latest news and changes to the website.
There are a number of ways you can help us build the website … why not:
- Promote your upcoming village events and fundraising activities
- Promote your club or society
- Submit your Flaxton images so we can capture the whole village in our gallery – past or present.
- Provide historical details so that we can build and develop a Flaxton history timeline
- Advertise your local business on our Flaxton Community pages
You can get in touch with the Council or the Community via the Contact Page.
If you are a Flaxton resident or live locally and want to know what is going on you can subscribe for news updates or News Letters to be delivered to your inbox further down this page.
New parish council websites are required to display an accessibility statement saying how well they conform to the latest accessibility requirements. The aim is to make websites as accessible as possible to all users. This includes users with disabilities, users accessing the site from a range of devices (e.g. laptops, tablets or smartphones), etc.
You can view our Accessibility Statement page which describes how accessible our website is and also how to use the UserWay functions which help to improve accessibility.
