Tree survey 23rd & 24th August
This weekend, 23rd & 24th August, the Green Gait Owners and a tree expert will be surveying the trees in the village to produce a tree management plan for the common land and Conservation Area. The aim is to identify all tree species and note their condition based on what’s present on or visible from the common land.

You should already have received a leaflet about a Very Important Public Meeting on 4th September 2025 to discuss the New Flaxton Community Hall Project.
You should also watch out for the Flaxton Village Show Programme coming through your letterbox.
This year’s show is on Saturday, 13th September. Don’t miss out! Our first show last year was a great success and we’re hoping to build on it.
So, get your entries in! There’s a form inside the programme.

North Yorkshire Council Parish Liaison: This week’s rubbish and recycling collections: Update
Dear City/Town/Parish Clerk,
Due to the forecasted high temperatures this week, North Yorkshire Council’s rubbish and recycling collections will start an hour earlier than usual.
Any residents still due a collection this week are advised to put their bins out by 5am, instead of 6am.
If you could help share this message with your residents, we would really appreciate it.
We will also be sharing messages on our website and social media pages to inform residents of this temporary change.
