Flaxton Table Tennis club update

It’s been a while but things have moved on since our first couple of taster sessions.  We have secured some funding to help pay for equipment and most importantly hire of the Village Hall.

Our thanks to the Parish Council for supporting the application and North Yorkshire Council’s Stronger Communities Fund for the dosh.

The short term plan is as follows.

We hope to purchase another table and 2 used nets from York and District Table Tennis stock.  I will go ahead and order a couple of new sponge bats to test out.  If we like them we can always buy more, plus we still have the traditional hard, pimples out bats for “old school” players.

I will put together a schedule of events starting mid September and publicise via WhatsApp/website and the village notice board.  I was thinking of a variety of times and target audiences to see what is popular.  If you have any ideas/preferences please let me know either via email , call in to Westfield House, or just stop me if you see me out walking a large fawn greyhound!

Thanks
