Flaxton Environment Group – Survey of Amphibians in Village Ponds
Pond survey to record amphibians (frogs, toads and newts) using ponds in Flaxton. This is a follow up to a previous survey in 1994 and hopefully will be much more extensive than the small survey carried out a couple of years ago. It will be carried out by the original 1994 surveyor John Spray in conjunction with the York Amphibian and Reptile Group in the evening of 18 April (the easiest way to search for amphibians is with a torch after dark as this is when they are most active).
We would like to survey as many ponds as possible in the survey. If you have a pond in your garden, field or croft that you would be happy to have included in this survey please email or speak to one of the committee, and someone will be in touch with further information. Many thanks for your help.
