Show Overview

A big thank you and WELL DONE to all the Flaxton residents, young and old, who entered into the spirit of Flaxton Show and took part on Saturday, 13th September, 2025. What a lovely occasion it was!

Despite the early harvest there were plenty of entries in the garden produce categories with some surprisingly large and mouth-watering fruit and vegetables. The display of beautifully arranged and varied flowers was also very colourful.

The art and craft classes showed off some great talents, particularly in the embroidery class where Catherine Eaton won the award for ‘Best in Show’. The photographs were also particularly lovely, each having their own interpretation of ‘Summer in Flaxton’.

The home baking and produce categories were the most popular classes for entries which meant that our judge had a very difficult task… (Her bonus being that she got to taste almost everything: cakes, scones, jams, marmalades, chutney, bread and buns!)

Flaxton Social Steering Group are delighted to have been able to donate £121.40 from this event to the New Community Hall Fund. All our future events will now include an element of fund-raising for the new building and your support is greatly appreciated. We can’t do this without you.

So finally, another really big ‘THANK YOU’ to not only the contestants but also to  everyone who came in the afternoon to view the entries. The numbers for this were far more than last year and everyone enjoyed themselves viewing the displays, eating, drinking and chatting. A very social Flaxton indeed!
