Neighbourhood Watch – Could you become a Community Champion?

neighbourhood watch

As you will no doubt be aware, Flaxton does not currently have an active Neighbourhood Watch Scheme however some residents have expressed an interest in setting one up.

It is a community led function and not a Parish Council one therefore if you feel you have some time to spare and could give something back to the community you are encouraged to follow the link below to see how you could become a Community Champion and what the role involves.

https://www.ourwatch.org.uk/get-involved

The role of Community Champions is so important because it harnesses the skills and motivation of locally connected people, like you, within the community for the sole purpose of raising awareness of crime prevention and improving community wellbeing, which go hand in hand. By taking positive action to reduce the fear of, and the opportunities for, crime to occur, you can play a key part in improving the wellbeing of your community.

Other villages nearby have set these up and a key part of the role will involve networking with them.  You can see these local communities by following the link.

If you think this could be you, contact our Parish Clerk who can forward you the relevant information and put you in touch with the co-ordinator.
